Date and time: 8:00 am, Saturday 28th February

Trip Standard: Easy – Gravel roads, farm tracks. There will be physical activity involved so a degree of physical fitness is required. Chainsaw users with valid chainsaw tickets and PPE are especially needed for clearing fallen trees.

Description

As many of you will know, FWD Victoria have been coordinating fire assistance activities to support the communities impacted by the Longwood fires. We intend to take part on Saturday 28th Feb and have put this up as a club trip in case anyone from the club would like to join us.

The main need is for volunteers with valid chainsaw tickets (FWPCOT2254 Maintain Chainsaws and FWPCOT2273 Trim and cut felled trees preferred). Chainsaw tickets are mandatory for anyone using chainsaws, and correct chainsaw PPE must be worn at all times.  If you don't hold a valid ticket, we would still welcome volunteers to help move timber and other general roles.

If you are intending to join it would also help if you let 4WD Vic know you are coming too: RSVP here. You can let FWDV know of your contact details and qualifications at this link, particularly if you will be interested in further volunteer activities: https://www.revolutionise.com.au/fourwheeldr.../surveys/9761

I
'll just add here the info from the FWDV website on needed skills and likely activities:
