Toolangi Adventures

Date and time:  Saturday 28th March 2020, 9:00am

Description:  This trip will tackle some of the more technical tracks in Toolangi – with plenty of muddy bog holes, steep climbs and challenging obstacles.

Starting in Healesville, we will make our way up Myers Creek Road to Sylvia road and head in to the State Forest from there.

The intention is to do some challenging tracks like Downies Spur Track, Bull Creek Road, Andersons Spur Track and pending weather and convoy, Aeroplane Track.

Departing at 9:00am from Beechworth Bakery in Healesville and aiming to end around 4pm at the Black Spur Inn.

NOTE: All-Terrain or Mud-Terrain tyres will be required for this trip – road tyres will not be suitable.

Weather:  Wet & muddy – potential to be windy and cold, or hot and humid (check weather closer to the day)

Equipment:  UHF radio (or one borrowed from the club), a well-maintained vehicle with low range (or equivalent), good clearance (200mm recommended as a minimum), good off-road tyres (all terrain, 60 profile recommended as a minimum), recovery points, standard recovery gear including dampener, rated snatch strap and shackles, shovel.

No camper trailers, pets or firearms

Trip Standard:  Medium to Hard – Steep climbs, mud, ruts and bog holes.

Fuel:  A full tank ex Melbourne

Distance:  75km from Healesville to Narbethong – mix of high and low range driving

Duration: 1 day

Convoy limit: 8 vehicles

Meeting arrangements:  Meet at Beechworth Bakery in Healesville for a 9:00am departure. If you plan to get coffee or food before, plan to arrive earlier. Aim is to finish around 4:00pm at Black Spur Inn.
