Exploring the ‘Open’ tracks in the Lerderderg State Park.

- Note - 10am start

We plan to make our way along Seereys Track and head into the Old Quarry/Training area. Other tracks include Blue Gum, Diggers and Morning Star which will have us finishing up in Blackwood where we can enjoy a warm/or cold drink at the Blackwood Hotel.

Weather:  Cold and possibly wet and windy so ensure you bring appropriate clothing and food.

Trip Standard:  This trip is classified Medium because it is likely to be wet and possibly slippery in parts. Be prepared for the possibility of coming across some difficult sections or mud and boggy areas.

Equipment:  High clearance vehicles with low range 4WD capability. Good all-terrain tyres with not less than 50% tread. Vehicles must be UHF radio equipped (or one borrowed from the club).  Usual recovery gear must be carried.

Don't bring:    Dogs and firearms 

Fuel:  Full tank ex Melbourne / fuel available in Bacchus Marsh

Tracks approx. 45kms
Melbourne to Coimadai – approx. 70kms
Blackwood to Melbourne – approx. 90kms

Duration:  1 day

Meeting arrangements:We will depart at 10am from the front of the Coimadai CFA Station, 17 Russells Rd, Coimadai Vic 3340. This location is approximately 10 minutes from Bacchus Marsh. Note that there isn’t anywhere to get a coffee here.

We plan to finish about 4pm in Blackwood.
