Cape York
Description: This trip will leave Port Douglas on the 15th June and travel to some of the iconic places in the Cape York area. We plan to see the sights of the Cape rather than attempt "car breaking" tracks. There will be opportunities to observe many of the challenging aspects of some tracks, but it is up to individuals if they wish to attempt them or take the bypass tracks.
We will leave Port Douglas and travel to Cooktown via the Bloomfield track, then to Weipa where we will spend a couple of nights. Then we will drive parts of the Old Telegraph Track, spending some time at a couple of iconic spots. From there we will make our way to the Loyalty Beach and use that as a base from which to visit some of the points of interest nearby. We also plan to spend some time at Punsand Bay and visit the Tip before returning via the Northern Bypass and Peninsular Development roads to Port Douglas.
The itinerary is fairly flexible at the moment so we may stay additional days or visit other points of interest at places that appeal to the group
