SUMMARY:Land Rover Terrain Response Experience Day
LOCATION:Black Spur Inn and Surrounding forest – Narbethong
DESCRIPTION:https://www.rangeroverclub.org.au/event-3521800\n\nLand Rover Terrain Response Experience Day\n Date and time: Saturday\, 14 September –9:00 am to 5:00 pm\n Description: This is a 1 day practical event following the LR Essendon D3/D4 Tech day. Unfortunately\, the theory part did not cover as much ground as we would have liked. There will possibly be a theory / discussion session in Melbourne prior to the day if enough interest.\n The aim of this day is to review some of the theories and put them into practice.\n Some of the things that we will cover will include:\n * How to release a jammed Electronic Park Brake (EPB). \n\n * How to shift PARK to NEUTRAL in a car without battery power. \n\n * How to Hard Reset the car. \n\n * Front and rear speed sensors - LLAMS and RODS \n\n * Brake light switch (a fault here can disrupt the entire CANBUS!) \n\n * Emergency Repair of EAS (Electronic Air Suspension) System \n\n * Tricking the Car into Emergency and Extended height \n\n * Underbody protection - Location of the compressor? How do we protect it? \n\n * OBD fault code reader. \n\n * Vulnerable underbody electrical connections \n\n Terrain Response System: * How does it work? \n\n * How and when to use the TR Modes? - normal\, sand\, snow\, rock crawl\, grass\, mud ruts \n\n * Central and rear E-Lockers \n\n * ES – On or Off? \n\n Hill descent versus driving through the brakes\n Demonstrate on the course how to use the TR specifically for these conditions\n Weather: e.g. From sunny to wet and cold. See\n http://www.bom.gov.au/places/vic/narbethong/\n\n Equipment: Land Rover Terrain Response cars D3/D4/RRS\n Snatch straps\, shackles\, dampener\, compressor\, UHF radio (or one borrowed from the club) with low range and All Terrain tyres (preferably)\, but road tyres not excluded \n Trip Standard: Easy to Medium (Occasionally Hard). Different terrain will be used to demonstrate the capability of the system.\n Fuel: Full tank ex Melbourne – More than adequate.\n Distance: Off Track Less than 50 Km\n Duration: 1 day\n Convoy limit: 10 vehicles\n Meeting arrangements: e.g. We plan to meet at Black Spur Inn Narbethong and depart at 9.00am sharp. If you plan to get coffee beforehand then you will need to arrive a little earlier. We will aim to finish about 5.00pm at the Black Spur Inn.\n Trip Leader: Winston Chong: Ph: 0414 288 076 Email: Wkwinston.chong@gmail.com. \n \n\n
