DESCRIPTION:https://www.rangeroverclub.org.au/event-3329678\n\nExploration of the Tallarook State Forest \n\n  When:  Sunday 31 March 2019.  9.00am - 4.00pm\n  Description:  This is an exploration trip within the Tallarook State Forest\, located approximately 10km east of Broadford\, to assess the area as to its suitability for the club to conduct trips.  The State Forest is situated on a plateau of an area of 5\,000ha\, rising some 600m above the surrounding farmland to the highest point at Mount Hickey at 800m\, with a fire tower and offering panoramic views from the summit.\n  Trip Standard:  As an exploration trip\, the trip needs to be classified as difficult as we will be looking for challenging tracks.  Drivers must be competent to tackle difficult tracks as some of those tracks maybe rutted\, rocky\, steep and/or muddy so expect all types of track conditions.  Drivers must have completed the RRCV club training\, preferably to have had some experience on medium to difficult classified tracks and be prepared to encounter challenging conditions and above all\, to explore and have fun.\n  The relevant map is the Rooftops’s Toolangi- Macedon Adventure Map.\n  Weather:  This time of year\, we can expect it to be anything from quite warm to quite cool\, so ensure you bring appropriate clothing and food.\n  Equipment:  High clearance vehicles with low range 4WD capability.  Good all-terrain tyres with not less than 50% tread.  Vehicles must be UHF radio equipped. Usual recovery gear must be carried.\n  Fuel:  Full tank ex Melbourne. Fuel available at Broadford.\n  Distance:  We will travel between 50km -70km within the State Forest.  Broadford is 88 km north of Melbourne along the Hume Freeway.\n  Duration:  1 day\n  Convoy limit:  6 vehicles\n  Meeting arrangements:  Meet at the Broadford Bakery for a 9.00am departure.
