DESCRIPTION:https://www.rangeroverclub.org.au/event-2525808\n\nTrip Leader: John Cunning & Simon Brewin\n  General Trip Overview\n We plan to start the trip from Oodnadatta meeting there on the Wednesday evening 5th. July and crossing the desert at a leisurely  pace and a few late starts or early finishes to provide time to sook up the desert.\n  We will have a full day in Birdsville to look around and then travel home via the corner country taking in Cordillo downs (largest sheep shed in Australia) and then Innamincka and the Dig tree before heading back to Melbourne.\n  Meeting Point: Oodnadatta\, the night before i.e.) Wednesday 5th. July\n  Trip Standard/Characteristics: Medium\,\n  This is a remote area trip and the desert sands can be quite soft.\n  The tracks leading from Birdsville an to Oodnadatta can be rough and corrugated.\n  You will need fuel for at lease 800km of desert driving and food and water for 5 days + emergency requirements in the desert.\n  Min 6 litres per person per day in the desert.\n  A desert parks pass is required\, these can be purchased on line or from National Parks South Australia (aprox. $160 per vehicle)\n  Vehicle Requirements: Well maintained vehicle in good condition is essential. good clearance\, good all terrain tyres.\n  Basic mechanical spares suitable for your vehicle should be carried\n  A second spare tyre should also be carried\n  Sand Flags that comply to Simpson desert requirements are mandatory\n  No Trailers\, firearms\, pets  \n  Vehicle limit: 8\n  Other Equipment: standard recovery gear including dampener\, rated snatch strap and shackles\, shovel and UHF radio.
