Peter Dwyer from Telstat has let us know that he is holding a Satellite Phone night.  This will be of interest to many members - particularly if you are planning an outback trip over the winter months.  The details are:

Telstat Satellite Phone Night

When: 7.30 pm, Monday 24 May 2010

Where: Telstat, 52 Brunel Road, SEAFORD

Find out all you wanted to know about satellite phones on this night.

Industry representatives will be there, Dave McTaggart from TR Telecom and Reiny from Beam.  We will discuss data, SMS messaging and all costs associated with sat phones.

We will explain the Government subsidy scheme in great detail, with costs and who is eligible to obtain it and how it is done.
Most 4X4 drivers would be eligible for the subsidy due to traveling into remote areas of Australia.

Demonstrations will be given on phone operation by Iridium
