Trip Classification: Medium – may get harder if wet.
Meeting place: Sheepyard Flat camping area on Saturday 12 June at 9am.
On Friday night, we will be camping at Sheepyard Flat - feel free to join us.
Fuel: Vehicles will require a full tank of fuel ex-Mansfield.
Areas to be visited: Old slate mine, Mitchell’s Homestead, Mount Sunday, Macallister and Caledonia rivers, and the Mount Howitt region.
Vehicle and equipment: Vehicles will need to be mechanically sound, ie: coolant and batteries.
The weather can be unpredictable, so please make sure you have sufficient warm clothing and your camping gear must be suited for cold, alpine conditions. Please carry enough food and drink for three full days.
Recovery gear: snatch straps, shackles, and tree-trunk protectors will need to be carried.
Tyres: All-terrain, at minimum and in good condition.
Communication: UHF radio, channel 15.
Maps: Rooftop’s Jamieson / Licola adventure map.
Convoy limit: Six vehicles
