So another trip is planned back to the Simpson Desert. This trip will begin at Innamincka on Tuesday 22/9/09 and finish at Uluru (Ayres Rock) on Thursday 1/10/09.
The intended route will be:
But may include the QAA Line Birdsville and perhaps the Colson Track.
When: Tuesday 22nd September (Innaminka) to Thursday 1st October 2009 (Ulura) (10 days)
Preparation: Vehicle must be equipped with heavy duty suspension and be in good mechanical order. Two spare wheels are required, puncture repair kit and spare spring/s.
Food and water: Minimum food to be carried is for 8 days. Expecting 5-6 days duration in the desert between Innaminka and Mount Dare. Water required 70 – 90 litres.
Fuel: Fuel required : Diesel 180 and Petrol 250 litres.
Members are welcome to participate in just the Simpson Desert crossing (5-6 days) so excludes Alice Springs and beyond as many have already covered this area before.
