Pilbara Region and West Coast of WA

20 Jun 2009 - 00:00
26 Jul 2009 - 17:00

The Range Rover Club is about to travel to the Pilbara for the first time.

Travel west along the Anne Beadell Hwy or Alice Springs to Gary Junction Road (depending on road conditions), head towards the Pilbara (Newman, Karajini National Park and Millstream Chichester National Park), to Karratha, Exmouth and Cape Range N.P (Ningaloo Marine Park). Next stop will be Monkey Mia and Steep Point. If time permits, we shall visit Kalbarri N.P. before heading quickly home across the Nullarbor. Trip Leaders are Alan and Christine Hawkes.

Trip Standard:

Medium and probably hard on the Anne Beadell. Talk to Alan about taking your camper trailer – but it must be able to withstand badly corrugated dirt roads and soft sand. It might be disconnected for some of the tours around the west coast so think about wheel clamp (from Repco) or similar security device.

Meeting Time
and Place

We shall be leaving at 6.00am on Saturday 20th June to drive towards Mildura for the journey to Coober Pedy. Travel with us or discuss with us your plans to join/leave at different points.

Convoy Limit

6 Vehicles

Fuel and water

If you are joining the first 9 days of the trip from Melbourne and along the Anne Beadell Hwy, you will need to carry enough fuel for 900kms of desert driving and enough water for 7 days.

Other stuff

There’s lots to discuss and plan so please put your names in the trip book soon so we can involve you in the planning.
