It's the Melbourne Cup long weekend - come and explore the beautiful Murray River from Echuca. This is a base camp trip with a variety of activiies planned for each day.
The plan is to enjoy a number of activities including
• Explore the nearby Campbells Island State Forest
• The bike and walking tracks along the river
• A round of golf
• Enjoy a drink or meal at Oscar W’s wharfside deckbar
• The National Holden Museum
• Tours of some local wineries
Camp will be at one of the excellent riverside caravan parks. Unpowered, powered and possibly cabin accommodation will be available.
Arrive on the Friday night or Saturday morning.
Echuca situated on the Murray River is an easy 2.5 hour drive from Melbourne and is the paddle steamer capital of Australia. The Port of Echuca has a rich history to explore from when it was a bustling river port.
Trip standard is easy. Vehicle limit is 8. Meeting place is in Echuca.
