Around Gentle Annie – Bunyip State Forest

Phill and Jane Collyer are taking a day trip is set in the eastern section of Bunyip State Forest. Gentle Annie is one of the higher peaks at 686m. This is close to melbourne and opportunity for a fun winter day out.

Meeting Time & Place: 9:00am at Princes Fwy near Longwarry (approx 70Km east of Melbourne) – more detail later.

Trip Classification: “Moderate but for the more experienced if wet”

Vehicle Limit: 10 vehicles

Radio: UHF Channel 10

Essentials:  Vehicle in sound mechanical condition; full tank ex-Melbourne

Trip Notes:
The trip is set in the eastern section of Bunyip State Forest and climbs one of the higher peaks at 686m. It travels over some mountainous terrain and can be quite slippery if wet. The trip notes we will use are from Traxmaps Issue 3 which was published a while back – so subject to track closures and changed conditions, the trip may not follow exactly the notes we have.

Please bring your morning tea and a picnic lunch.

This area can be cold – please bring appropriate clothing.
