Vacancies on Big Outback Trips
Graeme Chapman from LROCV and the Nissan 4x4 Club still has some vacancies on some of his "2008 Big Outback Trips" for Victorian 4X4 Club Members. Here is his notice if you are interested:
FOR 4WD VIC CLUB MEMBERS
TRIP 4 Nth Simpson/ Hay R from S to N.
Medium, for desert travelers. Difficult dunes. 7 days from 5 Aug.
From Birdsville west over Big Red to Poeppel’s Cnr, then north along Hay R to Batton Hill camp for 2 nights then west via Jervois to Alice Springs. Costs for permit/guides approx $350 per car.
TRIP 5 Anangu Pitjantjatjara lands (NW part of SA)
Medium thru’ remote Aboriginal lands. 6 days from 14 Aug 2008.
Visit special areas, perhaps children dancing, mens/ womens business. From Yulara south to Amata then SW to Watarru for 2 nights, then east to exit thru’ Marla. Costs for guides approx $750 per car.
GENERAL
Both trips are into remote areas where evac of people or cars is extremely difficult; both should be in top working order. The 2 trips could be rolled together for a total of 3 weeks. Max of 10 cars from clubs of 4WD VIC. Prelim briefing on Sat 12 July.
