After the final check of the route this weekend all will be ready for RRCV Navex 2008 on Saturday week - 1st March. All that is left now is for a few more members to sign up and come along...
Navex will be conducted in Toolangi and Black Range Forests with two loops out of the campsite in the Murrindindi Reserve. Crews will have comprehensive instructions and will be finding their own way along the route - with the help of some signs and checkpoints along the way.
The route takes in some wonderful roads - including some great scenery, some great four wheel driving and a very pleasant drive through a beautiful forest. And, the navigation is staightforward - the forest is well signposted and all the ionformation you need will be on your Rooftop map. If anyone is new to the club or navigating, there will be help available. The purpose of the event is to have some fun and exercise some mapreading skills - not to spend the day lost in the forest!
If you plan on coming, please sign up soon - the organmiosers need to know how many crews to do the paperwork for. And note, this is one of the club events that can take lots of members - don't be concerned that there are already a few crews signed up.
To signup go to the event page, login and click the sign up link. There is also a lot more info aboput the event, including details of the map you need have. You can also email Steve to sign up or to find out more about the day.
Navex will be great fun - we hope you can be there...
