The Pyrenees State Forest is located 220kms north west of Melbourne, west of Avoca. Rugged mountain ranges with spectacular views, the Pyrenees are fine examples of natural and cultural history. European settlement began in the 1840s. Most of the Pyrenees was prospected and mined after gold was discovered in October 1854.

Two nights under canvas, with the occasional modest cooking fire.

Meeting at the Black Spur Inn, Narbethong for a 9.30am departure, we will explore some local tracks before heading to Marysville and a drive along the bush fire devastated Lady Talbot Drive. A short walk into Keppel Falls will allow us time to explore the regenerating bush and then a stop at the recently rebuilt Keppel’s Hut.

The Range Rover Restoration continues... This working bee will complete the dismantling and cleanup and get everything ready for reassembly in the next few weeks. We'll be dismantling in a managed way, assessing and logging parts and photographing the progress for the Restoration Blog.
