This is a 1/2 day trip that starts at Narbethong and explores some local tracks before heading back to Wandin to camp at the site of the Victorian 4WD Show. The Pyrenees State Forest is located 220kms north west of Melbourne, west of Avoca. Rugged mountain ranges with spectacular views, the Pyrenees are fine examples of natural and cultural history. European settlement began in the 1840s. Most of the Pyrenees was prospected and mined after gold was discovered in October 1854. | ||
The 7th Australian 4x4 Gathering will be held at Mitta Mitta at Easter 2008. The event is organised by Four Wheel Drive Victoria and will attract 4WDers from all over Australia. Chris & Karen Brown are leading an RRCV contingent to the event.
